Victor Tănăsescu is one of Romania’s foremost professionals in domestic and international dispute resolution, with more than fifty years of experience in international commercial law, private international law and domestic and international litigation and arbitration.
He has acted as arbitrator or counsel in more than 120 proceedings under the Rules of the Romanian Court of International Commercial Arbitration, and 15 proceedings under the ICC Rules, the LCIA Rules, UNCITRAL Rules and ICSID.

Victor Tanasescu is not only a much respected arbitrator and counsel, but also an acknowledged author, co-author and co-editor of more than 20 works on various legal themes.
He has been also involved, as expert, in different projects for drafting new legislation or amending the existing one in several key economic areas. Furthermore, he was a member of the UNCITRAL team for drawing up „The Guide for Countertrade Transactions” (1989) and was the Romanian representative in the sessions of UNCITRAL between 1987 to 1988.
